Breakfast Club

We offer a Breakfast Club every school day.

When does it start each day and where do you go?

Breakfast club starts at 7:45 am. Parents may bring their child to school, via the right-hand side entrance and sign their child in with the member of staff leading the club. If the gate is shut, children will come via the school office and they will be taken into the main school hall.

What will your child eat or drink?

Haywood Village Academy staff facilitate the preparation of toast and breakfast cereals. Drink served will simply be water or milk. Pupils with particular allergies need to further remind the staff of their needs so as we can accommodate these needs.

What else happens at Breakfast Club?

The children can have food until 8:20 am. Before and after this, there will be a variety of art and craft activities, quiet board games and small scale construction. Children are discouraged from bringing in their own toys.  We feel that this will be a calm time for the children to simply talk to each other during their play activities.

How will your child get to their class?

We feel it is important that children still get to have a ‘fresh air break’ and the chance to ‘run around’ with their friends before the school day starts. We will therefore bring the children out from the hall and onto a separate school playground at approximately 8:40 am. We have chosen to not mix the breakfast club children with the other children in the morning playground, as it is difficult to manage the whereabouts of breakfast club children when mixed with many other children and their accompanying adults. The Breakfast Club staff will then take them to their classrooms.

How much will it cost?

It will cost £2.50 per day for children who are in Reception and above.  The cost for Pre-school children is slightly higher to support the ratios of adults to children. The charge for Pre-school children is £4.00 per day. We are a cash free school and online payments can be made using our Scopay online payment system.  Payments must be made in advance through your online account. You must ensure that funds are in your account in order to book sessions.

How can I book?

You need to book breakfast club through the Scopay payment system.  Bookings can be made online up to 48 hours prior to the session. Should you require a booking and have not set up your Scopay payment system , please contact the school office on 01934 312720 and the office staff can help you.

Are places limited?

Places will be limited to 28 children plus 4 Pre-school children.  Should you wish to use Breakfast Club and a booking has not been made, although we will aim to accommodate your child, for safety reasons we reserve the right to refuse a place on the day.  You will need to phone the school office from 8am.

Can you let us know if you are not going to use a space?

Yes please! Letting us know in advance if you are not going to use a space for your child that you had booked will allow us to offer this space to another child.  A voice mail message on the school number or an email to [email protected] will be helpful to reallocate spaces, if either is received by 3pm the previous day. If sufficient notice is not given you may be charged for the session; illness will be an exception to this.
