Haywood Village pupils shine at showcase event

Haywood Village Academy welcomed parents and carers into school for its Year 6 showcase, celebrating the pupils’ learning, creativity and achievements across a range of subjects.

Pupils confidently read aloud their own writing, performed on the clarinet, showcased their artists’ books and presented their historian PowerPoints, demonstrating the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the year.

Families also enjoyed exploring the children’s microscope learning and scientific discoveries, gaining an insight into their curiosity and enthusiasm for science.

There was plenty of fun and friendly competition, too, as pupils took on their parents in a Times Tables Rock Stars battle, followed by a highly contested penalty shoot-out.

A spokesperson for Haywood Village Academy said: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils and the confidence, enthusiasm and pride they showed throughout the Showcase.

“It was wonderful to see them sharing their learning with their families and celebrating their achievements across so many different subjects.

“Events like this are a fantastic opportunity for children to reflect on how far they have come and for parents and carers to be part of that journey.

“A huge well done to every pupil involved.”
