Reading Challenge Summer 2020

North Somerset Reading Challenge

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are excited to announce that HVA will be taking part in North Somerset Libraries Reading

Challenge over the summer. As libraries are currently closed due to COVID-19, this year’s reading challenge is slightly different. This year’s theme will encourage families to have funand just ‘Get Silly!’. Children are being encouraged to read anything that makes them happy. This could be a comic, joke book, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, in digital or print format, from e-book lending through the library service or from books that children already have at home.

It is so easy to take part. Please follow the link to sign up to the easy to use website https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ . Children can set their own reading challenges and review the books they have read. There are also downloadable activities, games and quizzes. Once your child has completed the Reading Challenge they will receive a downloadable certificate. You can then email a copy of your certificate to [email protected] and in September we will celebrate those children who have completed the challenge.

Look out for an assembly on the 16th July, on YouTube, which will introduce the Get Silly! Reading Challenge to your children.

Thank you for your support.

Your sincerely,

Miss Hall
