Children are learning about the 1400s and 1500s through the lens of European Explorers. This has linked their learning as Geographers and Historians as they learn more about exploration across the globe by people who lived during the reign of Henry VIII and beyond.
As part of this they will be learning about The Matthew (a ship captained by the Tudor sailor John Cabot) and on Wednesday 23rd April they will be visiting The Matthew and the M Shed museum in Bristol.
They will leave school at approximately 9:15am on a coach to go to Bristol. They will be taking part in activities including a First Mates workshop on The Matthew and admission to the M Shed museum which has relevant exhibitions that link to their learning. They will return to school at approximately 2:30pm and collection from classrooms will occur as usual.
