On 8th May, Haywood Village Academy are hosting an inspirational workshop with Team GB Athlete James Tomlinson, who represents the team in the Discus event. In conjunction with Sport for Champions UK, this event is to raise money to support our school for new sporting enrichments and equipment, whilst also helping fund Team GB’s athletes in upcoming events such as the Olympics in the summer.
During the visit James will show medals, share stories of hard work, determination and talk about the importance of children’s mental health during an interactive assembly. He will also demonstrate his event to the children. Then, he will visit every year group to lead a short fitness circuit with each class.
We are hoping that children will be sponsored for their fitness circuit. All children will be bringing home a sponsorship form.
